If you have ever visited one of the islands, you know the feeling. As soon as you take the ferry from the mainland to one of the 5 islands and look out over the Wadden Sea, you feel like a different person. You are free.

The Dutch Wadden Islands are well known for their friendly and chill vibe and each island has its own charm. That´s why it is such a popular holiday destination for the Dutchies themselves and also the neighbor countries.

Working in the Hospitality Industry

There is plenty of work in the hospitality and catering industry on the islands all year round, especially during the holiday periods. My Working Holiday is working with more than 50 hotels and restaurants and you can work at a campsite, in a hotel, beach pavilion, restaurant or surfing school.

Working in the hospitality and catering industry is a fun but also a tough profession because you often work long hours. (That is also an advantage if you want to save money!). You meet a lot of nice people every day and no day is the same.

Another nice thing is that you do not necessarily have to have experience in the catering industry to be able to work on the islands. On the islands they are willing to guide you and teach you the tricks of the trade.

Available Positions

Throughout the year, we are always looking for people who would like to work in one of the following positions;

• Bartender
• Waiter or Waitress
• Cook
• Chef Cook
• Kitchen Help
• Cleaner (housekeeper) hotel rooms & holiday homes
• Dishwashers

How does it work?

You sign up and register online via our website. You tell us for which period you are available and exactly what type of holiday work (position, island) you are looking for. We will help you with your choice.

We will help you too introduce you to our clients. Once you have found a great company where you will gonna work, we will arrange the following for you;

• A place to stay overnight (usually a room in a staff house)
• Reimbursement of your meals
• Reimbursement of your boat trip
• A good salary. Minimum is 13,60 per hour and cash in your bank every Thursday!
• On top of your hourly wage you will receive good tips! (which can sometimes amount to €1 to €2 per hour)
• Extra holiday payments and vacation days
• An online course to master the basic principles of the catering profession. Including official certificate!
• Most of all Work at one of the most beautiful holiday spots in the Netherlands.
• We are providing you with the necessary documents such as a BSN number and Dutch Health insurance if needed!

• You´re kind and loving
• You are willing to work hard in a team with both Dutchies as Internationals
• Experience in hospitality is a big plus
• You are available for a minimum of 2 months.
